Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say early analysis indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for information.
An important representative stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved quickly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
